In early June I jetted off to the east coast for a little much needed R&R. I left the hubs at home and headed East with a couple of friends. Since it is a tradition to have a pre-flight cocktail, may as well make it a double. Right?
We landed in NYC and headed out to long island to catch the ferry to our destination. There are no photos to prove how soaked we were after all the rain we wandered through, please trust that our suitcases, shoes, and ourselves were completely drenched. No fun. However, I was still on an island, and got to wake up to this beach everyday.
Trust me kids, it doesn’t get much better than this. The tide in this photo was at the highest it was while we were there.
Even though there were strict “NO RUNNING” instructions from the doc, I could not resist running on the beach.
Trust me when I say, I paid for it afterwards. Yikes my foot hurt. Yet worth every single mile.
We also tried this beer, which is amazing. LOVE it.
There may have been some shopping and sightseeing as well.
Hard to believe I didn’t buy anything at that store. True story. That never happens.
I found my next vacation home in the Hamptons. I just need to work a little harder. The whole nursing salary isn’t going to cut it for this purchase.
Don’t forget a little beach time.
Fun fact. We missed the ferry one day to get on the mainland, so we hopped on with a commercial charter boat! It was a small delivery boat and they were gracious enough to give us a ride!
After we left the island we headed into the big city of NYC to do some shopping and sightseeing. Just a few pictures for you…
(yes, incredibleness IS a word. And…we went back for another cupcake.)
Leads to this…
Some Central Park action
A little show…
And a nice photo from our hotel room view at night…
And some Times Square action
Another pre flight ritual…
And last but not least…my Favorite coffee mug to date.
I was incredibly sad to leave. I had an amazing experience! The food was good, the drinks were great, the beach was breathtaking, and the company was fantastic 🙂
Until next time NYC! I will be back 🙂
